James Suckling features Dog Point Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2018 in its recent feature highlighting the best price performing Sauvingon Blancs from New Zealand. Suckling reports that, generally speaking, Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, is “valued for its purity and tropical fruit […] It is a forward and flamboyant wine, with passion fruit, kiwi, gooseberry and guava notes. It is generous but possibly less intriguing than some Sancerre. In other words, it is a wine one can enjoy without needing too much wine know-how.”
Suckling reviewed the Dog Point Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2018, giving it a score of 92 points and a review detailing its great nature, “offers a complex take on fruit-driven sauvignon style with fresh limes and lemons, as well as peaches on offer and there’s a succulent wrap of smooth-textured fruit to close.”
