Eight of Our Favorite Nonvintage Champagnes for Every Budget

Wine Enthusiast reviewer Roger Voss selected Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée as one of his favorite non-vintages champagnes in a recent roundup. Bollinger’s flagship NV Champagne is in a category of its own, no doubt a result of the almost unthinkable level of labor-intensive practices that go into making this blend.

Voss’ comments reinforce Bollinger’s commitment to craftsmanship. He says, “dominated, as always, by Pinot Noir and with wood fermentation and aging, this Champagne has a great poise between freshness and richness. It is intense and ripe, with apple and minerality coming together.” Read the full roundup HERE

A journey of devotion, Special Cuvée’s powerful impact and elegant depth of flavor capture Bollinger’s distinct spirit. 30% ferments in neutral barrel for a silky texture while the reserve wines (hand-riddled and blended from magnum) contribute the signature aromas of an aged Champagne. Special Cuvée is layered with freshness, savor and spice, all in a velvety texture that truly stands apart.

Bollinger is one of the rare Grande Marques that’s still family owned. Known for its rich, elegant and polished style of Champagne, their outstanding wines are the result of rigorous attention to detail and incredibly labor-intensive practices that few houses are willing to undertake. Underscoring its excellence, Bollinger has remained British secret agent James Bond's Champagne of choice since 1973.
