Gaba do Xil Mencia 2018

Valdeorras, Spain

This bright red hails from Valdeorras (“Valley of Gold”) in eastern Galicia, a region once famous for gold-mining and now best known for its unique and complex wines made from the indigenous Godello and Mencia grapes. The wine is named for the river Sil that flows through the region (Xil is its ancient name, used by the Celtic people who once inhabited the area).

James Suckling "The blue fruit, crushed white pepper, cloves and slate are mind-blowing on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied with very fine tannins and a refined, polished finish."

Finca Decero

Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Agrelo, Mendoza, Argentina

Agrelo is recognized for red varieties and while it has been acknowledged for its high-quality Malbec it has also become known as the source of some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon emanating from Argentina. The wine has a beautiful, full-bodied structure that comes across effortlessly due to the hallmark Decero refinement.

James Suckling "Fresh, leafy notes to the cassis aromas, but not over the top, with roasted spices and cedar. Fresh and juicy on the palate with fresh, blue-fruit flavors, a spicy-oak kick…

Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2018

Crozes-Hermitage

Crozes-Hermitage can be considered the gateway to the red and white wines of the Northern Rhône Valley. Whites make up a small percentage of production in the Rhône, under 2%, but white wines are a little bit of a secret speciality at Guigal and today comprise 25% of their production. And for good reason, as the whites of the Northern Rhône are true discovery wines, immensely appealing and complex.

Wine Spectator “Fresh and rounded in feel, with melon, pear and heather honey notes backed by a lemon curd hint on the finish. Bring on the langoustines and saffron aïoli."

Château La Serre

Château La Serre 2018

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe

Château La Serre has an exceptional position in the very heart of Saint-Emilion, six hundred feet from the town ramparts of this magical UNESCO protected area, on outstanding limestone soils with a due south exposure.  The history of the property dates to the 15th century, with the residence constructed at the end of the 17th century by a prominent local family.  Arnaud d'Arfeuille's grandfather purchased the property in 1956, and his father Luc in particular worked on renovating the vineyards and cellars to produce wine equal to its terroir.

Wine Spectator (92-95) "Ripe, open and very enticing, with lots of intertwined blueberry, boysenberry and plum compote flavors, carried by licorice threads and backed by a polished finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc."

Decanter "One of the best in this tasting. Silky and rich, with aromatic black fruits and a complex layering of cut herbs, liquorice and sweet spices. Restrained elegance without putting a…

Ferrer Bobet

Vinyes Velles 2017

Priorat, Spain

Ferrer Bobet's Vinyes Velles is an old vine blend of Carignane (74%) and Grenache (26%). It's produced from some of the best steep slate hillside and terraced vineyards in Priorat. Though the "second wine" of Ferrer Bobet, the initial 2005 release put Ferrer Bobet on the wine world map. Two of the most important publications in Spain named it their wine of the year, and accolades came pouring in from Russia, the UK and the US. It launched the Ferrer Bobet mission of creating wines of elegance and purity, and the message has resonated.

Wine Advocate "The 2017 Vinyes Velles was produced with 74% Cariñena and 26% Garnacha from slope vineyards older than 70 years on llicorella slate soils all within the limits of the village…

Selecció Especial 2017

Priorat, Spain

Selecció Especial is 100% Carignane from hundred year old vines in some of the best vineyards in Priorat, in one of the coolest, steepest and highest elevations of the appellation, factors which contribute to optimal phenolic ripeness and help preserve flavors and acidity. A wine of truly profound fruit and minerality.

Wine Advocate "The top of the range, the 2017 Selecció Especial is pure Cariñena from centenary vines on a "coster" (slope) of llicorella slate in the village of Porrera. The wine matured…

Ferrer Bobet

Priorat 2017

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Napa Valley, California

The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium-bodied wine offering notable raciness up front, compelling freshness and depth of flavor. Villa Gemma Colline Teatine Bianco 2019

Colline Teatine IGT

While the Villa Gemma Montepulciano was the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, the Bianco, created just a year later, further defined what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. This wine, first released in 1985, speaks to the white grape varieties specific to the region and has become on of the most exciting wines produced at the estate

James Suckling "Plenty of green apple, lemon and some crushed stone on the nose and palate. Medium to full body and a tangy, minerally aftertaste."

Champagne Bollinger

La Côte aux Enfants 2015

Champagne, France

A stunning and extremely rare, still red wine produced only for the greatest vintages. This wine harmoniously combines 100% Pinot Noir Grand Cru fruit from an exceptional vineyard with traditional Burgundian style winemaking. Historically, Pinot Noirs from Aÿ were the most popular wines of the French court, specifically a favorite of King Henri IV, and La Côte aux Enfants comes from a steep plot just outside of the village. This wine is the purest expression of Pinot Noir, offering a fine, delicate texture in the mouth, and a tautness giving it a beautifully long finish.

Condrieu 2019

Condrieu

Condrieu is the ancestral home of the Viognier vine and is the source of one of the world's most exotic white wines. In the mid-20th century, only 20 acres of Viognier remained in Condrieu, leaving the grape and the appellation in serious jeopardy. Guigal was instrumental in bringing this appellation back from near extinction, and today supplements the grapes from their own vineyards with grapes purchased from numerous small growers, ultimately vinifying nearly one-third of the entire appellation.

Jeb Dunnuck "The base Condrieu from Guigal always delivers and the 2019 Condrieu is stunning stuff, giving up a beautiful bouquet of ripe nectarines, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and exotic flowers. Just classic…

Saint-Joseph Lieu Dit Blanc 2019

Saint-Joseph

Guigal’s Saint-Joseph Lieu Dit comes from the vineyard that gives the Saint-Joseph appellation its name, and is one of the finest sites in the Northern Rhone Valley. Made in minuscule quantities, the Lieu Dit Blanc is one of the most original and distinctive whites in the Rhone. A seamless balance of freshness and fruitiness, pleasure and interest, and flavors and structure. Guigal’s specialty in whites is especially evident in this wine.

Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2018

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

The Montepulciano Marina Cvetic represents an intense and remarkable expression of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  The 100% Montepulciano comes from eight of the estate's top parcels, across an altitude of 500 to 1,200 feet above sea level, on soils of calcareous clay and lime.  In these vineyards, we find not only the traditional Abruzzo pergola vine training, but also Simple Guyot and Spur Cordon as well.

Masciarelli

Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2018

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

The Trebbiano Riserva Marina Cvetic represents the ultimate expression for the estate of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  Like Montepulciano, Trebbiano was once thought to be a workhorse grape without the potential to produce great wine. The interpretation of this wine is original and has a character. Marina Cvetic wines have full body and are elegant and are a “lone voice” for the most demanding and technical experts.

James Suckling  "A white with sliced-lime, ripe-pear and some green-apple character. It’s full-bodied with a dense palate and a vivid, creamy finish. Some vanilla and pralines."

Masciarelli

Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2015

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Villa Gemma is the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, showcasing what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is the only Italian wine with 14 consecutive Tre Bicchieri awards and, more importantly, was the wine that established Abruzzo as capable of making truly distinct, extraordinary wines. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is a powerfully – almost undeniably – intense wine of character and complexity.

Dog Point Vineyard

Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Marlborough

Section 94 is widely regarded as the most distinctive and greatest Sauvignon Blanc being made in New Zealand today. James Healy and Ivan Sutherland were among the first to begin fermenting their Sauvignon in barrel with wild yeasts, a technique that along with the old vines they use, leads to a full-bodied wine that is less fruit-forward, more exotic, and has immense textural complexity.

James Suckling "The complex style is nicely dialed-in here, offering a fresh array of grilled lemon and peach with some gently nutty aromas, as well as a lime-curd edge. Really fresh. The…

Dog Point Vineyard

Pinot Noir 2018

Marlborough

Dog Point's renown as a Sauvignon Blanc producers has done nothing to lessen the enthusiasm around their Pinot Noir, today considered one of the finest in New Zealand. What sets their wine apart is the generosity of the structure, which comes off as rich but not sweet, and the complex mingling of fruit and savory notes.

James Suckling "Attractive, earthy and spicy aromas are wound seamlessly into bright, red and darker cherries. This is complex and fragrant with dialed-in oak. The palate has impressively intense red-cherry flavors with…

Dog Point Vineyard

Chardonnay 2018

Marlborough

Several influential voices in the wine industry believe that in time Chardonnay may prove New Zealand's single highest achievement. All three of the Dog Point wines fermented in barrel are small in production, but the Chardonnay is the smallest, and at times indeed the most dazzling.

James Suckling "A complex chardonnay with guava, lime and lightly grilled-peach aromas, as well as flint and toasted hazelnut. The palate has an impressively taut and concentrated feel with praline, hazelnut, peach…

Crozes-Hermitage 2018

Crozes-Hermitage

Crozes-Hermitage can be considered the gateway to the red and white wines of the Northern Rhône Valley. The reds, which are the majority of production, have wonderful warm flavors of red and black fruit, and typical Syrah pepper, spice and savory notes.

Wine Advocate (90-92) "Tasted against the 2016 and 2017, Guigal's 2018 Crozes Hermitage reveals another level of ripeness and plushness. It's full-bodied, maybe even a little jammy (not a problem at this youthful…

Jeb Dunnuck (89-92) "I loved the 2018 Crozes-Hermitage, which is similar to the 2017 yet offers a touch more purity of fruit. Blackberries, black raspberries, smoked game, and earth all emerge from this…
